Nicole B asked:
i’m thinking of getting a pipefish. would they go well with baby arowanas and chichlids(baby’s) or silver dollars? I think they will get well with angels but i’m not sure about blackghost knife fish though
the arowanas are pearl arowanas and one red arowana. I’m thinking of a freshwater pipefish they are yellow right?

Seahorses and most types of pipefish don´t like hectic swimmers in their area. Also for the reason of fodder competition – especially seahorses are real gourmets, observing their potential booty for a while before catching it – the association of fast and greedy fish is not desirable.
What species of fish are you actually thinking of when you say Pipefish?
True Pipefish, related to Seahorses, are saltwater only (there are some high-end brackish I think) but either way, entirely incompatible with any of the fish you mentioned.
What size tank are we talking about? (Arowanas need 250-300 gallons minimum, baby or not for instance). And what species of arowana and cichlid?
So what Pipefish were you thinking?
edit: Jardini Arowanas (your Pearls) will grow increasingly aggressive towards their own species and their tank mates as they grow.
The Pipefish, I believe you are thinking of either Enneacampus ansorgii or there are a couple of others, are not really true freshwater, they do best in brackish conditions, and are too delicate for the likes of Pearl Arowanas!
