I bought a Black Ghost Knife Fish today and he looks fairly healthy, only one thing, he dug a shallow hole in my gravel and just lays in it on his side, he hasn’t moved from that spot, I mean he gets up and wanders around but the hole is amongst some plants and he does not leave the plants… is this normal? And by the way, he is about 3.5 inches… how old would he be?
P.S. If it helps you in finding a better answer, he is in with 2 small (1 inch) Bristlenose plecos and 2 (1 inch) Albino Cories.

He’s still a baby they grow up to be 12inches .. Of course its normal they usually hide during the day. You should buy those glass tube and that way you can still see him while he’s hiding they sell those at petsmart or petco.
well k they grow much bigger then 12 in but she is right they are nocturnal they will only come out at night and will also eat other fish like tetras and stuff and also he is just a baby buy make sure to feed him like blood worms and stuff all meaty foods and turn of the light like when you normal would at night then feed all the meaty foods other wise he wont eat good luck
He will keep growing. He is still a little baby. They just want to hide during the day to avoid sunlight. Buy some kind of wood ornament like a tunnel in which he can hide.Something like the ship you can see in the video, but it doesn’t have to be that big:
