I tend to agree with Mr. Beccaria. The enactment of these types of laws have little or no impact on the criminal. They are uselessly applied for the false hope of security, all the while stripping the individual from the ability to legally defend himself and his household.

Sorry but I’m fairly sure you’ve asked this same rather naive question before. Our government is a little busy to have an election on every matter. That is why we elect our leaders. So THEY can make those decisions for us. If you don’t like the results then get involved.
