The walruses use their long tusks (elongated canines) for fighting and for display. Humans use ivory from the tusks for carving. The natives call the penis bone of male an oosik and use it in making knives. Walruses have only three natural enemies: humans, orca, and the polar bear. Polar bears hunt walruses by rushing at them, trying to get the herd to flee, then picking off calves or other stragglers.

See that’s the dilemma my friends have argued this for years the fork has more contact points but the knife would penetrate deeper plus the knife is normally thicker than the fork so more durable

goodmornevery1 asked:

We have such a myriad of tools and products. I was wondering today which of these products would come in handy in a post apocalyptic world where digital technology simply does not exist.
I thought a musical instrument, bikes, pens, books, chess pieces, and survival and hunting gear (knives, fire, compass, fishing line, the works) would be enough.
A world where digital technology is not present would be something wouldn’t it? i read an excerpt from 2012 and it got me thinking about how reliant we are on digital technology and material posessions. Any thoughts?

Website content

Steve H asked:

After watching Man vs. Wild last night, seeing Bear Grylls run a knife across the throat of a living goat, then gutting a dead camel for liquids and shelter, I got to wondering how the average person feels about such things on a public program? I live in the extreme north, hunt and fish as well as help a ranching buddy of mine, so taking the life of a useful tool, heck, even a family pet is a thing of necessity. How do you folks that are surrounded with pavement and glass and meat in your local store feel about those of us that take the life of creatures for our survival? Please be frank, or as honest as possible as I’d like to have varying views on the topic. Thanks in advance!

Content
