I just bought a Jeep knife (JP-1024). Half smooth/half serrated, seat belt cutter, glass breaker, rubber grips on the handle. Great little pocket knife, plus I got it on sale for a decent cost.

Problem though: It has an unusual type of screw head that holds the blade to the shaft. The top of the screw has 5 unconnected points (indentations) in a circular pattern. I’ve never seen a screw of this type. I like to do my own maintenance on my knives/tools. What tool do I need to disassemble this knife?

I’m just asking because I’m going on a camping trip and my organization requires a folding knife that has a lock.
I have a folding knife but it only locks when it’s out (I think). Does that count?

I have a good folding hunting knife. It has rust in areas that I can’t reach, such as along the hinge that the blade swings on. What can I pour in it/ soak it in that will dissolve this rust without rubbing?
