you probably would have been questioned and if found guilty of knowing you had drugs on you, you would be put in prison. It is a very risky thing you did but i know you know that.

You are either very brave or very stupid for even attempting to get on a plane with weed. Maybe both. I would assume jail time would be the first step, and do you really want something like that on your record for life? Next time wait til you get home again to light up. Cheers
First time offender in California probably not too much trouble, but you will be marked for life whenever you apply for a job you will have to tell them about it and explain it to them.
Have you ever been convicted of a drug related offense? You will have to answer yes. This will make it more difficult for you to get a government job or a job that involves children.
Any other offense afterwords will be harsher and with less lenience.

Also as a side note, you just admitted to doing something illegal on your personal YAHOO account that is not an anonymous account. I’m not even going to go on and explain how dumb that is. Don’t worry the crime is too low for the Feds to care and you can claim oh it was a joke or just to find out some information…
The airport security agents are neither policemen nor federal narcotics agents. Airport security is contracted out to private companies. You could get into big trouble if the guy had decided to detain you and call in law enforcement although finding weed is not the purpose of their job and they are not trained for narcotics.
It would have followed you for life……..and if someone reports you it still may surface……yahoo is not a private account……
All I’m going to say is that was not a smart decision. Consider yourself lucky, and don’t try it again. Not only do you have to go through the screening, but there are also police dogs that sniff everything from drugs to bombs, etc. If a police dog would’ve been walking even remotely close to you, certainly they would have smelled it, and led the police over to you and started barking.
